Brassinosteroids and salicylic acid are considered as the on-going potent plant growth regulators or PGRs in the current research studies in plant physiology. Brassinosteroids commonly called as BRs are low-molecular-weight steroid hormones present in plants, analogous to those identified in animals and salicylic acid (SA) is an endogenous signal molecule capable of regulating plant growth and development and modulating many physiological responses though the induction of stress tolerance in plants. The current study is focusing on the changes in the vegetative growth of Solanum xanthocarpum when foliar treatment of homobrassinolide and salicylic acid resulted in improved growth enhancement in terms of plant fresh weight, plant dry weight, shoot length, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root length, root fresh weight, root dry weight, number of branches, number of leaves, leaf length and width of leaves.
