This study introduces GriefSupport, an AI-assisted bereavement counseling application designed to help students at the South East Asian Institute of Technology cope with grief and find emotional healing. The application offers personalized, stage-based grief counseling, multimedia memory preservation, peer support networks, and professional referral services through a culturally sensitive and user-friendly platform. GriefSupport aims to address the lack of accessible and empathetic grief resources in academic settings, providing timely and individualized emotional support to grieving students. The AI-driven system adapts to users’ unique grief journeys and promotes community connection and resilience. Usability tests involving 100 student participants showed positive results, with 86% reporting ease of use, 84% expressing satisfaction, and 80% appreciating the personalized counseling feature. The findings demonstrate GriefSupport’s effectiveness in enhancing emotional well-being and nurturing a supportive academic environment, highlighting its potential as a valuable tool for culturally sensitive digital grief support.
