Global supply chains are undergoing a profound shift driven by rapid digital transformation, the growing complexity of global trade networks, and rising market volatility. Organizations increasingly recognize that traditional supply chain models, reliant on manual coordination and fragmented data systems, are insufficient to address contemporary challenges such as demand unpredictability, geopolitical disruptions, and sustainability pressures. In response, digital transformation strategies including cloud-based platforms, advanced analytics, blockchain, and artificial intelligence are being adopted to enable visibility, traceability, and agility across the value chain. However, technology adoption alone is not a sufficient determinant of success. Strategic project leadership plays a critical role in steering digital initiatives, aligning technological choices with organizational objectives, and ensuring that transformation is embedded across people, processes, and governance structures. Leadership that emphasizes stakeholder alignment, change management, and cross-border collaboration enhances the capacity of firms to capture long-term value. Equally important is the need to evaluate digital transformation through measurable economic impact. Metrics such as cost reductions, efficiency gains, risk mitigation, and enhanced revenue streams provide tangible evidence of transformation outcomes, ensuring accountability and guiding reinvestment decisions. By linking digital innovation directly to financial and operational performance, organizations can move beyond aspirational transformation goals to demonstrable business value. This paper evaluates digital transformation strategies in global supply chain management by integrating perspectives from strategic project leadership and economic impact measurement. It contributes a framework that highlights how digital technologies, when effectively led and measured, can redefine resilience, competitiveness, and sustainability in global supply networks.
